Tobias Pietz

Tobias Pietz is the deputy head of the analysis division at the Center for International Peace Operations (ZIF) in Berlin. His current areas of focus are UN-EU-AU peacekeeping partnerships and the missions of the European Union within the framework of the Common Security and Defense Policy (CSDP). In 2014, he initiated and facilitated a multi-stakeholder dialogue project on EU-UN Partnerships in Crisis Management and Peace Operations during the Italian EU presidency. From 2003 to 2006, he was a senior researcher at the Bonn International Centre for Conversion (BICC), mainly focusing on the topics of disarmament, demobilization and reintegration (DDR) and small arms control. His comments appear at German newspapers such as the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung or Frankfurter Rundschau, as well as in international media such as the EUobserver or World Politics Review.
