Stephanie Gordon is a PhD Candidate at the University of Leicester. Her research interests focus on how identity documentation regulates relationships between citizens and the state. Within this sphere, she looks at state denial of legal identity documentation in China, and how this impacts people’s citizenship. Gordon has studied China for more than eight years, including three and a half years living in various cities across the country. Her expertise spans the Chinese legal, political and anthropological fields. Using this background, she has extensive experience in providing country expert reports for immigration lawyers representing Chinese clients.
