Saira Joomun was born in London to Mauritian parents and raised in the UK and Mauritius. She graduated with a BA (Hons) First in Humanities: History with Combined Studies with a thesis looking at Diego Garcia: The Anomaly of Nationalism in a Colonialist Era. Saira then went on to complete a GDL law conversion course at BPP Professional Education, and is currently completing a Master's in Sustainability Leadership with the Cambridge Institute of Sustainability Leadership where she is researching Sustainable AI practices within companies.
