Romina Canessa is a human rights lawyer at Equality Now, an international human rights organization that uses the law to protect and promote the rights of women and girls around the world. Prior to Equality Now, Canessa served as an expert on developing global access to justice mechanisms, most notably helping to launch and implement the first alternative dispute resolution center in Kabul, Afghanistan. She has also worked in Peru on anti-corruption, judicial and electoral reform projects, including promoting the role of women in politics.
