Richard Seaford is a British academician and professor emeritus of classics and ancient history at the University of Exeter. The recipient of a Leverhulme Major Research Fellowship and an Arts and Humanities Research Council Fellowship, he has authored several books and more than 90 essays on Greek lyric poetry, Greek religion, presocratic philosophy, the New Testament and the reception of ancient drama, including the 2019 book, “The Origins of Philosophy in Ancient Greece and Ancient India.” Seaford is also a member of the British Committee for the Universities of Palestine.
