Kiran Bedi

Kiran Bedi was India’s first and highest ranking female officer of the Indian Police Service. Her expertise includes over 35 years of creative and reformative policing, and prison management. She worked with the United Nations in New York as the Police Advisor to the Secretary General in the Department of Peace Keeping Operations. A former Indian and Asian Tennis champion, Bedi is an inspirational speaker and a recipient of the prestigious Ramon Magsaysay Award that is often called the Asian Nobel Prize. She is the founder of two nonprofit organizations, Navjyoti and India Vision Foundation, which provide education, vocational skills, counseling and health care to thousands of under-served children, women and men.
