Jason Stearns is an Assistant Professor at Simon Fraser University's School for International Studies. He holds a PhD from Yale University and specializes in African studies, focusing on civil war, civil society and international relations. Since 2001, his research has centered on the dynamics of violence in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Jason founded the Congo Research Group at NYU's Center on International Cooperation and has published extensively, including the book Dancing in the Glory of Monsters. His work emphasizes the impact of global trends on contentious politics in Africa.
