Dr. Banning Garrett is a strategic thinker, writer, consultant, and entrepreneur. He focuses on issues concerning national security, geopolitics, US-China relations, long-term global trends, urbanization and the impact of exponential technologies. Using this knowledge, Garrett has consulted to the World Bank, the United Nations, the US government, as well as  private businesses.  Many prestigious journals and media outlets have published his work.. Garrett is also a sitting member of several boards, participates in think tanks, and was director of the Atia Program at the Atlantic Council. He received his BA from Stanford University and his PhD in Politics from Brandeis University.
