David D. Pearce is a former US ambassador to Greece and Algeria, and the former consul general in Dubai and Jerusalem. From 1972 to 1981, he worked as a journalist for Associated Press, UPI, The Washington Post and the National Geographic Society in the US, Europe, the Middle East and China. He joined the Foreign Service in 1982, serving primarily in the Middle East, with additional tours in Washington, North Africa, Europe and South Asia. Since retiring from government in 2016, he has done public speaking.
