Benjamin Harrison attended the United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, New York, graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, and was commissioned as a US Army field artillery officer. He is the outgoing president of the Admiral Daniel J. Callaghan Society and serves as a school administrator in his native San Francisco.
