Anisur Rahman is a literary critic, translator and poet. He has worked and published in the areas of comparative translation and postcolonial studies with reference to the literatures of South Asia, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Anisur has authored four books, edited or co-edited six volumes and produced two collections of modern Urdu poetry in English translation and an anthology of poems in English. Formerly a professor of English at Jamia Millia Islamia, a central university in New Delhi, Anisur is currently Senior Advisor at Rekhta Foundation.
