Affonso Celso de Ouro Preto was a former Brazilian ambassador to China, Sweden, Austria and Guinea-Bissau. He was also the chief officer for the African Department of Foreign Relations Office and ambassador-at- large for the Middle East. He was the president of the Institute for Brazil-China Studies (IBRACH). Ambassador Ouro Preto passed away on December 28, 2016, after a long fight against cancer.
