California nuns who grow medicinal cannabis are fighting to keep the project alive.
“Sisters of the Valley,” Kate and Darcy, have been cultivating medicinal cannabis for patients who aren’t able to obtain it. Due to legislative bans in the California’s Central Valley, a potentially multibillion dollar medicinal cannabis industry is being stifled and patients deprived of access to natural and effective pain relief.
The sisters have set out to change this, supporting presidential candidate Bernie Sanders in his quest to legalize marijuana. In the meantime, they bless the medicine, believing that the prayer adds to the healing qualities of weed that they grow and process themselves.
